Chapter 1
1. What problems or conflicts are presented in chapter one? Tao needing to find a rabbit is an obvious one; identify at least two more.
2. Predict the resolution of each conflict.
ANSWER:
1. one of the problems is that Volt caught Tao come back late and Volt was mad at him. Another problem is that when Tao went back to bet the rabbit it was gone and he found pugmarks of a large hyena
2. Tao can start to come back earlier and not get so distrated with things. Tao can look around and try to look if the rabbit is a little farther or quickly find another one.

Chapter 2
What two important events happen in this chapter?
ANSWER:
EVENT 1. One of the important events is that Tao couldnt go back to the camp because he didn't find the rabbit.
EVENT 2. Also he helped wolf by taking the bone out from being stuck in his jaw.
EVENT 3. One last thing that happened is that he went in the place he was forrbidden to go.
Chapter 3

2. What decision does Tao tell Volt?
3. Look at Tao's decisions and actions from Volt's perspective. Pretend you are Volt. Write a first person paragraph explaining how you feel.
ANSWER:
1. They learn to hunt together.
2. That they need to get a wolf dog so they could hunt better
3. I feel proud of Tao. I feel proud of Tao because he is right we should get a wolf dog. Wolf dogs seen very helpful because he came back with two rabbits. That is more food that he has ever got by himself. Tao has also proved that evil spirits don't exist so we can do things that we couldn't do before

Finally,Tao found out about his mother. Tao's mom was a caring and talented women. She saw pictures in the sky and in the meadows. "It is law of the clan," the old woman continued, "that weak and crippled children be taken up among the boulders and left for the hyenas.She sat in a corner of a big cave,holding u to her breast,keeping you warm rocking you back and forth ,sining. Again and again they tried to take you away but she fought like a cave lion,screaming,biting, refusing to give you up.

1. Tao tries drawing a horse and Ram
2. Ram was easier because he was looking at Ram and the horse he had not seen in a while

1. I feel that Greybeard is being to harsh on Tao.
2. I disagree with Greybeard because it is what Tao is good at and his clan doesn't know that he paints in the cave and where it is located at.
3. What Greybeard said was true back then and not now because if you are good at something u could become it at a job.

An important theme in this novel is that people should follow their dreams and do what they believe is right, even if they don't follow their society's expected ways.

1. The situation I imagened of today was when we saw everyone's hominid project and we saw the homo sapiens sapiens drawing on the cave walls like in "Boy of the Painted Cave" and like the people who want to be artists they need to follow their dreams and become artists.

Why do you think Graybeard changed his mind?
What does this tell you about his character?
ANSWER:
1. I think he changed his mind because he was being to harsh to Tao.Also because if he was good at it he should be able to do it but like he said he needs to cover it with dirt after.
2. This way I can tell that Greybeard is a kind person.

ANSWER:
1. "Mountains-that walk" are mammoths.
2. Tao almost got killed by one of the mammoths.

1. I think that Greybeard is a good teacher because he is teaching Tao very well.
2. I would like to have Greybeard as a teacher becuase he seems to teach well and if i get it wrong he will actually correct me and wont just say "it's okay."

2. Why is Tao afraid at the end of the chapter?
ANSWER:
1. Animal fat,blood,yellow clay,limestone powder,red clay,white clay,and egg yolk. The one that suprised me the most is the egg yolk.

1. Even if Ram had succeeded in hunting the deer, do you think it was a good idea of Tao's to "show off" his dog's ability to hunt? Explain.

1. I think it still wouldn't be good because Volt and the hunters would have thought that he was trying to steal the food.
2. I predict that the clan isn't going to believe that Greybeard made Tao the new cave painter.

ANSWER:
My reaction is surprised. I am surprised because I never would have suspected that Volt was Tao father. Maybe now they will get alone better and this will become better. For example now for sure Tao will be a cave painter and be able to draw without having to orry about being caught. Also he will be able to find about all about his mother.
